Sembène Dashiki | Semene a dashiki to honor the 'father of African cinema.'  This rare classic uses a very and limited premium acid green linen. Our Dashiki is a return to the classic dashiki iconized in the '60s and '70s of the African American revolution. It echoes an era of African pride, looking to Africa as the original home of the Diaspora and wearing that culture without apology. This 2018 version is featuring a rare and premium wax print. The KMT and the Khufu are the top of the line of our Dashiki series. This product is extremely exclusive.

In redesigning the classic dashiki of the 60's we had one additional design consideration, to transform it from a casual top to a formal one while retaining all that gave it its identity. We asked ourselves what was necessary to make it a premium occasion top, and went about adding everything we know to be premium, starting with high-end West African zigzag embroidery, formal cuffs back yoke, and a welt or outside pocket.

The Los Angeles Times considered him one of the greatest authors of Africa and he has often been called the "father of African film
