Our Dashiki is a return to the classic dashiki iconized in the '60s and '70s of the African American revolution. In redesigning the classic dashiki of the 60's we had one additional design consideration, to transform it from a casual top to a formal one while retaining all that gave it its identity. We asked ourselves what was necessary to make it a premium occasion top, and went about adding everything we know to be premium, starting with high-end West African zigzag embroidery, formal cuffs back yoke, and a welt or outside pocket.
