Toucouleur is formal top using denim and kente featuring a denim placket and optional French cuffs or normal cuffs. The Kente forms the back yoke while the lightweight denim makes up the back and the sleeves. This shirt features our new grand shaped welt pocket (optional) which is one of the most complex jetted pockets specially designed for each shirt with attention to the finest details. Silver buttons or silver snaps are used on this design. Cufflinks are not included. For matching jeans see our denim collection.

Did you know: The Toucouleur Empire (also known as the Tijaniyya Jihad state or the Segu Tukulor) (1861–1890) was founded in the mid-nineteenth century by El Hadj Umar Tall of the Toucouleur people, in part of present-day Mali.

Please check with our size chart before ordering. As we cannot refund due to size error. Each display items comes with as much information so you can gauge which size is best for you. Most African clothing is worn loose. So a person who is large may choose an extra large for a more flowing fit. Some sizes take longer and our expected transit time attempts to accommodate for all possible delays.

These are uniquely hand crafted attire. As such there will be subtle variations from garment-to-garment. But the good news is that every garment is unique. And you know that you are wearing something tailored for you. If you want customized cuts you can contact us and discuss modification. There is a standard charge for this.

We quote 21 working days, but orders usually are sent much sooner. We do not like to rush our work, and rather it be slightly late than slightly wrong. Special order items take a little longer. We have to work on a first come first serve basis, and if you need the item urgently please let us know and we will prioritize it for you.
